Terms of Service
Last updated: [DATE] · Draft, pending legal review
1. What Counsel is
Counsel (Counsel is where a real legal problem becomes public, advocates who believe they can help make one response, and the person who posted it decides who gets the case.) is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("Counsel", "we", "us"). By using Counsel, you agree to these Terms.
Counsel is a venue where a client's legal problem is posted and advocates who believe they can help make one response each. Counsel does not provide legal advice, is not a law firm, and is not a party to any engagement a client and advocate later form. Any heuristic tagging or summarization the product performs on a submitted problem is organizational only and is never legal advice.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- You must sign in with a real Google account to post a problem, respond to one, or use case chat.
- You are responsible for what you post under your account.
- Advocates represent that they are actually qualified to practice; Counsel's verification badge reflects only what has been checked by the process described in the product at the time — see Section 5.
3. Public problem posts
A problem you post is public — anyone with the link can read it, without needing an account. Your name is never shown alongside it. Once published, a problem's text cannot be edited; if you want it taken down, use the removal-request link on the problem's page or email support@bhama.app.
Do not post another person's private information, or anything unlawful, threatening, or abusive.
4. Responses and case assignment
Each advocate may make one response per problem. The client who posted the problem chooses, at their own discretion, whether to assign the case to one of the responding advocates. Counsel does not recommend, rank, or guarantee the suitability of any advocate.
5. Verification
An advocate's verification status reflects only the check Counsel actually performs at the time of review — it is not a guarantee of good standing, and it is the client's responsibility to independently confirm an advocate's credentials before relying on them.
6. Fees
Any professional fee for legal services is agreed directly between the client and the advocate, outside Counsel. Counsel does not process payments between clients and advocates, and advocates may not propose or discuss fees through Counsel's case chat.
7. No legal advice; no liability for outcomes
Counsel is a discovery and communication tool, not a source of legal advice and not a guarantor of any advocate's work. Any dispute arising from the underlying legal engagement is between the client and the advocate.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION].
